Art For Hotel Rooms - Enhancing The Guest Experience

Guest room art theme delivers maximum impact for hotel room art. Consistent artwork is very effective in any space and certainly adds a luxury, custom art touch.

Here are some great tips on how to hang multiple pieces of the same size art over a sofa:

1. All the artwork is the same subject matter and background color, except each white shell is different. This creates a consistent, cohesive style.

2. Each of the shell canvas pieces are square 24"x 24" spanning with width of this large guest room and deliberately spaced 2" apart to keep a consistent flow and presentation. Spacing the pieces apart more would not have the same sophisticated feel.

3. We also made the choice was to not centre the art over the sofa or centre on the wall. The artwork extends over to the left side of the sofa - a great way to hang art in an unexpected way.

4. The artwork hue compliments the color of the wall. The blue artwork (being the only blue color in the room, except for a few pillows) pops against the complimentary yellow hue.

This is one of Angela's largest hotel projects and the most custom artwork specifications as well. Working with the Designer's vision for this tropical Hotel location, white shells were photographed on a specific Pantone turquoise colour to match perfectly with the rooms accent hues.

Timeless Artwork For Hospitality

Timeless artwork never goes out of style, Angela's unique vision and dedication to her photographic craft is evident in all projects and clients she has worked with. "I am pleased to have more Client and Designers seeking out custom artwork for their design projects" states Cameron, "it is the backbone of why I create amazing abstract photography - just for those niche projects that demand the best artwork for their hotel properties". As competition for travel clients grows in the marketplace, so does Hotel Design options that incorporate exclusive artwork and options to ensure a better guest experience.

Botanical Art For Boutique Hotel

This project features panorama format with Abstract Botanical artwork printed on aluminum, for Inn At The Forks Hotel in Winnipeg Manitoba.

Neutral backdrop provided a serene foundation for the subtle colour artwork to shine without overpowering the feel of the space. Custom printed on aluminum, we left a raw edge all around to give a feeling of a frame. Each room artwork shown here coordinated deep tones and lighter tones - perfect choice on behalf of the Designer and the Hotel Owner. Modern botanical images were a superb choice as this timeless artwork will not go out of style anytime soon! Showing just a sliver, panorama format enhanced the contemporary feel even more.

Designers starting with the artwork selection early in the design process are rewarded with the option to coordinate drapery and upholstery goods - thus making the process simple and sophisticated. Its much easier to start with the artwork first to inspire you, then build around it.

"It was a pleasure to work on this project" states Cameron, "this Hotel is in my home town of Winnipeg Manitoba, so I had to make sure everyone was more than pleased with the result".

Crane Paper Co Showcases Angela Cameron Artwork

If you have ever wondered who manufactures US currency paper money - you are now being introduced! Crane Paper Co located in Dalton Mass has produced paper for currency for over 200 years.

I had the pleasure of working with an amazing Designer, William Caligari. Bill approached me to collaborate on this large design project for the interior renovation for Crane. My diverse portfolio lended well for this project as each area of the interior (lobby, waiting area, restroom, corridors, office areas) demanded a different art approach. Some of my work was offered on acrylic for the lobby and other modern pieces are framed for office and corridors.

This corporate art project not only had variety of work, but the presentation of work still adhered to a recognizable style and consistency throughout the space. I’m pleased that the Crane clients were very pleased with their art to represent to their brand and clientele.

Art on Glass For Hospital

One of Angela's more recent projects, this Lethbridge Regional Hospital in Alberta Canada showcases Angela Cameron's beautiful images throughout the corridors. In collaboration with KR Architecture and Perkins + Will in Vancouver, the vision for each area of the corridors to receive specific colour artwork to help visitors find their way to specific areas of the hospital.

Nature Themed Art

Several of Angela's prairie themed images of trees, flowers and leaves were selected for their specific unique hues. High resolution photographs were cropped to accommodate the tall vertical format needed for the custom corridor areas.

Photographs were printed on fine art film material and sandwiched between 2 - 1/4" pieces of clear glass, edges polished and finished. Each glass piece is installed on custom lighting within the walls to create a backlit situation that glows at all times of the day. The results are large backlit 96" x 24" glass art that keeps you on track of your location in this unique healthcare art installation. A very clever way to organize different hospital corridors and specific areas of treatment.

Visitor and Staff Experience

Thinking about the user experience is often the Designer's first vision for interior design, as well as the location of the project. This Healthcare installation boasts relevant beautiful photography that is timeless and functional and relates to the location of the Hospital. Guests, Visitors and Patients will now find their way around the corridors and be inspired by nature as well.

Large Art For Healthcare Corridor

Large art is a must for large wall expanses, especially for public areas. Not all art for Healthcare environments has to be nature themed landscapes. The fun drama of Angela Cameron's work shows well in triptych format and good lighting certainly adds interest and impact.

These large pieces are perfect to add colour and enlightenment to this white corridor. Shown here, 3 square art pieces are spaced apart perfectly under each spotlight (good lighting is a must) and featured on a white neutral wall. It was important to have a pop of colour and pattern to liven up a stark corridor. It was great that the Designer chose abstract art instead of nature art here. Having fun patterns and shapes creates a different feel, especially in public corridors.

Large scale art is more popular than ever - it has to make an impact for large expanses of wall space for most commercial interior spaces. All of Angela's work is high resolution to enlarge up to 96" wide and even larger for wall covering mural. We work on many mural projects that require custom work and colour correction - after all, it’s a permanent installation for many years to come.

Hotel Receives Edgy Modern Artwork

This large project covered all the guest rooms, corridors and public areas with modern, edgy artwork that enhanced the vibe at this Marriott Hotel downtown location.

Working with the Designer, we selected many images and customized them to work in each area. Modern artwork with a night-time feel are perfect for the lounge and public areas. The guest rooms received panorama style spring leaves with a fresh green hues. Custom artwork was done in a mix of aluminum art, canvas art and artwork on wood for the corridors (not shown here). Each area focused on the contemporary theme, but artwork chosen reflected the edgy vibe of this Marriott downtown location.

Hospitality_Art_Angela_Cameron_Marriott_Hotel_1000x.jpg

Shown above top, the restaurant fuchsia artwork is a great example of not having to match the artwork to the surrounding textiles. The complimentary colour artwork creates more sophistication and resonance. "I am a huge fan of the Designers decision to not choose muted green artwork to match the restaurant area" states Cameron "It's a simple way of creating upscale interior that adds interest and style without more expense". What makes this idea work is the rich tone of the green with the rich tone of the fuchsia. If the art was a light pink colour overall, it wouldn't work as well. Complimentary colour artwork adds a huge impact to this space, especially with neutral walls to allow the art to pop.

Angela has worked on and provided her photographic art for many Marriott properties, appreciating the fact that their art selection process is very specific to their brand. "I'm happy to offer unique artwork for Marriott that no one else can" states Cameron, "they realized that artwork choices can set them apart in a competitive hotel industry".

Art Has Transformative Benefits For Healthcare

In recent years, the medical world has begun to recognize the beauty and therapeutic benefits of art in healthcare. Art is now being used in hospitals and clinics in a variety of ways with the goal of improving patient experience and outcomes. It is clear that art in healthcare can be transformative for both patients and staff.

The importance of art for healthcare is something that can lift the quality of life for patients, both physically and mentally. There are many types of artwork and decorative items, such as large scale nature murals, printed acrylic panels and framed art groupings that can help patients feel at home while they heal. This is done by putting the patient in a more relaxed state while also making their surroundings more pleasant to look at.

Art for healthcare improves patient experience, healing and reduce stress.

The healing power of art can be seen all around us. From temple carvings to modern day murals, the artistic creations that graced the walls of buildings and towns has often served as a catalyst for spiritual healing. When it comes to healthcare, art is not only an accepted form of therapy but also an essential one. Art helps promote wellness in hospitals by helping patients heal emotionally and physically through creative expression.

There has been a long history of art and healthcare coexisting together. From “art as healing” to “art as therapy”, the benefits of art in the medical realm are profound. In order for those who are sick or those with mental health concerns to cope with their conditions, art is an indispensable resource. In a world where people tend to be more isolated from each other, they might find comfort in creating or appreciating artwork.

Health care facilities are being designed to create healing spaces for patients

Many people fail to realize the power that art has not only on our mental health but on our physical health as well. Studies have shown that being exposed to artwork can decrease blood pressure, increase pain tolerance, and help individuals recover from a chronic illness quicker. Hospitals are now catering to patients well-being, which has resulted in a more holistic approach to art selection. Angela Cameron creates emotionally connecting art through nature. She has a unique point of view on location to capture the essence of our natural surroundings - thus connecting with you the patient, visitor and staff.

Angela Cameron’s poetic nature art offers dramatic impact to these large white walls. This clinic was in need of art that offered healing benefits with natural style. Dogwood flowers were the perfect choice to be printed on large acrylic panels and installed on neutral white walls. The artwork was to make a statement, but not overwhelm the relaxing space. Clients of the clinic are to be presented with the right feeling and create that calming effect from the moment of entering. Not only does this large art create positivity, but it also helps the clinics business become memorable. The large acrylic art was installed with standoff hardware at each corner and in the middle to support the pieces. Lighting from above was strategic in illuminating the artwork just enough. The light and airy feel was achieved through a custom printing technique that allowed some light to come through the acrylic, while still making the flowers show beautifully.

Acrylic art printing has been requested many times for hotel lobbies as well as corporate interior spaces. Its beautiful glass like finish has a sophisticated feel that is timeless and modern.

How Art is used to promote health and wellness

Art in Healthcare was a new field of study that began in the 1990s. The idea is to apply the power of art to people who are recuperating from illness or injury, which has been shown to promote healing and provide a sense of calm and relaxation, alleviating the stresses of daily care. This type of therapy is intended for use with patients recovering from surgery, chronic conditions, and medical conditions such as dementia and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The proven benefits of art in healthcare are innumerable. It is important for people to realize that art can be used not only for mental health, but also for physical health, and help the patient feel better.

Conclusion

Art in healthcare is a highly effective tool for healing and providing emotional support, as well as physical needs. Art provides one of the best ways to relate and connect visually and create meaning out of chaos, so it should be considered as a vital part of any healthcare facility. Angela Cameron Fine Art provides unique art, relaxing ocean art and colourful abstract art specifically created for healthcare interior design.

Beautiful Abstract Art Throughout Hotel in Nairobi

The Impact Of Consistent Artwork Throughout Hotel

One of our more distant projects, Dusit D2 Nairobi Hotel contacted Angela Cameron to collaborate for custom artwork throughout this entire hotel property. Each guest room received unique art that fit into the abstract ocean art theme - the vision for this project was for guests to experience different artwork each time they stayed at the hotel. Simple modern frames were selected for these beautiful abstract water art pieces that pulled together the sitting areas and bedside.

The artwork selections contributed to the Hotels location and feel to compliment the neutral decor. The art does not overpower the Interior Designers vision, but certainly plays a part in how the guest room creates a positive mood.

Modern Edgy Art For Hotel Rooms & Lobby

Hotel Lucent in Menlo Park California

The close proximity to Google lends to the contemporary art theme for this project for hotel rooms and lobby area. Hotel Lucent is located in Menlo Park California and caters to younger millennial guests. This modern hotel doesn't shy away from colour, texture and pattern. The lobby features oversize acrylic art that sets the tone for the rest of the hotel. Guest Rooms and pubic areas also relate to the lobby artwork to give a cohesive style.

Custom Art For Hotel In Washington DC

This was also another of Angela Cameron's larger projects on the East Coast. Collaborating with the Designer and Her color scheme of fabric samples and style of the space, artwork was chosen and customized to add that final modern touch to the guest rooms and public areas of this Hyatt Hotel in Washington DC.

The beautiful triptych (see far right) was printed on aluminum with no frame to maintain a modern feel. The canvas framed art (far left) of abstract water added the only hit of color in this neutral guest room. Various tones of blues, greens and turquoise was the theme color of the artwork with the background textiles and upholstery goods being neutral. The pop of yellow on the wall created a sophisticated backdrop that further highlighted the artwork and overall design.

This is a great example of how artwork is used as the finishing touch! Simple frames and modern display did not overpower the Designers vision, rather the artwork was the icing on the cake to the overall feel of this hotel guest room.

"This project was over several months of samples and back and forth with the Designer to ensure all the tones worked perfectly together" stated Cameron, "it was a pleasure to work on this and see the overall finished space".

Custom Art For Muse Hotel In New York

This sophisticated upscale New York Boutique Hotel required custom art options that would resonate with guests and the Owners vision.

Angela Cameron's artwork was the perfect choice for this client as she wanted the Muse Hotel to stand out with unique art that makes a statement for her guests.

Hospitality Art is becoming more exclusive and custom as hoteliers are realizing the impact it has on their guests "home away from home". This is a great example of having single, impactful artwork on the walls instead of large art pieces. The single works are so bold and graphic that more artwork could overwhelm the beautiful Interior Design aesthetic.

One on One

Angela Cameron and her team work one on one with Designers, Owners and Project Managers to achieve a stunning, memorable space that sets the hotel property apart. "We believe in the strength of custom, unique art and work personally with Designers that understand the need as well" states Cameron, "we are thrilled to work with clients and exceed their vision".

Large Mural Art For Marriott La Live Lobby

Angela's art shown here, is showcased on an oversized mural for a public lounge area in the LA Live Marriott. This project explored colour throughout, coordinating art, furniture and carpets. There was no shying away from the impact colour can make in large spaces. The design theme helped to define this lounge area and attract guests to sit awhile! Angela and her team also completed custom murals in each corridor throughout this upscale hotel.

Women Vendors

This hotel new build in downtown LA a few years ago was one of the first of its kind. The Design firm proposed to Marriott to have all women vendors/ suppliers for this project. Angela Cameron Fine Art was pleased to be one of many suppliers for this huge hotel complex.

Angela has had her work chosen several times for Marriott properties - she continues to offer fresh, modern artwork that is unique to hotel designers. Custom size, colour adjustment and creative input makes the Designers job easier. Collaboration is the key to a hotel property coming together. Angela's keen attention to detail of colour, quality and production - she loves the challenge to create new work that inspires and resonates.

Floral Art Hilton Garden Inn Dining Room New York

Angela Cameron’s Floral Artwork Showcased

Our Client had a unique challenge in this Hilton Garden Inn Restaurant in New York. The dining area windows did not offer a view and a solution was needed. Working with the Design Team over a few months, Angela had the right photography that would work perfectly as a solution.

Oversize Floral Artwork

The result was oversize floral drama that set the stage for a quaint place for lunch - no view needed! "It was fun working on this project", states Cameron, "to see it all come together is the best part!"

We often collaborate on many different projects that all need an injection of ideas to arrive at the perfect site specific solution. There are many substrates that photography can be printed on and then incorporated in to the Interior Design theme. Its a very custom, unique look that no one else will have. More and more Hotel Designers are realizing the need for the special touch, especially with art.
